Letters to a Life Gone By

It’s 2016, Thanksgiving, you and your cousins are sitting awkwardly in the game room, when one of you suddenly pipes up.

“Remember Great Uncle Will’s letters?”

Of course you do, it’s like the one interesting thing in your family’s history. A collection of love letters between William and a famous singer, Lady Luck, who went on to marry a famous actor instead of him, and died tragically and mysteriously.

Great Uncle Will had passed before some of the younger cousins were even born, but those who remembered know that he’d always been convinced it was the actor who’d dealt his darling’s unfortunate fate.

“Well,” the cousin continues, “I had an assignment to write a letter to a figure from the past, so I wrote one to Lucky telling her not to marry that guy and…I think she answered.”

The barrier of shyness is broken and exchanged with teasing remarks and ripples of laughter. The letter written and the chest of older ones are brought as proof.

To settle the case, you all resolve to write another one. When you open the chest, lo and behold, there sits Lady Luck’s letter, addressed not to Great Uncle Will, but you.

Continue your correspondence with her and attempt to save her from her fate. Question the parents and discover family secrets that had long been untold. One thing, at least, is already clear: this will be the most interesting Thanksgiving dinner yet.

The Great Misfortune of Being Melody Haggard

Open Lobby began {{helpers.calendarDisplayTime(1764370451)}}, ends {{helpers.calendarDisplayTime(1765580051)}}

Let me preface by saying that this might turn out to be more of an experiment than a game, so if you have any expectations I now invite you to kindly defenestrate them before proceeding.

I will elaborate more on the experimental aspects after the premise blurb.

Cheers!

Melody Haggard is cursed. She’s got no proof and no enemies but there seems to be no other explanation for it.

All her life (basically) she has been tossed from one world to another, without any particular rhyme or reason. When it first happened at thirteen she was naive enough to believe it was a superpower, but no, she has no control over it whatsoever.

Nearly a decade has passed now, and she’s battled in steam punk armies, soared in a swarm of fairies, investigated in a gang ridden metropolis, and so much more. She has now found herself in a mutant ridden distopia–not the first she’s visited–and met you. She thinks it’ll be the same, she’ll aid you and others in whatever adventure fate dumps in her path and then without warning–poof!–she’ll be gone and never seen again.

Maybe she’s right, perhaps you will be just another passing figure in her story.

Or maybe something will change, and by some miracle you’ll join her in a unwilling world-hopping escapade.

(The idea is for this to be a story with space for serious, heartfelt moments, action, and a decent dose of silliness)

I’ll break it down further in the info for applicants!

Note: This game is designed to be flexible and open to new, old, low commitment and high commitment players. You just need to be somewhat willing to go with the flow.

As mortals they were told to stay in line and obey, in exchange they’d be given safety and enough to provide.

It was a lie.

As supers they were told to lay down their lives and in return they would be loved and respected.

They were passed over.

The world left them no choice but to either quietly continue licking the scraps off of society’s floor, or take the lives they wanted by force.
Alone they were nothing.
Together they will be feared.

Theme: Long Hard Road Out of Hell, Marilyn Manson

The Pariahs is a dark and gritty antithesis to superhero pop-culture about a group of supervillains attempting a rise to power, think Joker (2019) meets Justice League. Viewer discretion is advised.
The story will begin amidst their first bank robbery.

Tinselfall: A Most Peculiar Advent

Open Submissions began {{helpers.calendarDisplayTime(1763585432)}}, ends {{helpers.calendarDisplayTime(1764795031)}}

Open Lobby began {{helpers.calendarDisplayTime(1763585431)}}, ends {{helpers.calendarDisplayTime(1764795031)}}

It’s Christmas!

All is well in Tinselfall.

It could almost be a Hallmark family movie…

A sleepy Hallmark-perfect Christmas town finds itself locked inside a “story bubble”—a reality behaving exactly like a cheesy holiday movie.

Players can be villains trapped in a world that won’t let them be villainous, peaceful townsfolk who sense something is “off,” or interlopers with their own goals.

At first everything is wholesome and saccharine… but each day of Advent introduces a fissure. The movie’s invisible rules start to glitch. Festive perfection begins slipping into uncanny weirdness, then full-on horror—zombies, elves, malfunctioning tropes—before swinging wildly back toward heartwarming resolutions.

The town must survive the loop, discover who is controlling the script, and restore Christmas before the story collapses.

You can play a (would-be) villain, or perhaps just someone new to town with an enquiring mind. You could even be a Christmas elf, if you wanted…

What you will find in this world is that… everything leans towards a sweet, wholesome Christmas. Want to do something devious? You find it all just adds to the greater good. Wandering down the street with big pointy ears and green skin? No-one notices a thing….

How can I put this…Imagine Last Action Hero, where some things are just inevitable due to the genre of the movie you’re in. Think WandaVision, where everything seems so idyllic… until you being to think its a bit… off

Ancient evils lurk in ancient ruins and twisted, hell-bent cults want to let it loose. In this sepia-toned world, cunning and intrepid souls risk it all to uncover the truth and protect humanity from horrors buried deep in the ground — and in our secret history. This pulp-horror deck pits expert global investigators against hideous monsters in the 1930s.

31 October 2025 — the day the world stopped making sense.

No one really knew where it began. Some whispered it was a weapon gone wrong; others claimed it was nature’s way of striking back, or the result of a drug that defied death a little too well. But on that same day, in three corners of the world, it began — with a man, a boy, and an old woman.

At first, it seemed like illness. Muscles stiffened, movements faltered. Then came the drooling — animalistic, primal. Within hours, their nervous systems shut down. Their hearts stilled. Their brains died.

And then… they moved again.

Their bodies convulsed, twitched, and rose — empty yet hungry. The infection spread faster than anyone could comprehend: one turned into fifty, fifty into hundreds.

One of the outbreaks began in the quiet town of Westvale — inside its heart, Westvale High School.

You were there that day — one of six hundred students. The bell rang, but it wasn’t for recess.

Screams replaced laughter. Blood replaced graffiti. Lockdown wasn’t enough.

Now, it’s not about passing classes.
It’s about surviving the night.

Will you make it out alive… or join the ranks of the undead?
