The world is a changed place. Nuclear war and radiation transformed not only the landscape and the people, but the very nature of society. No one was safe. The Authority had to step in.
The invention of Paxemocillin was a beacon of hope in a terrifying new world. It brought peace, it gave stability and ensured that any terrible consequences of what had come before were controlled. Pax was the future, now parents no longer had to fear the creatures their children might be. Everyone was normal. Everyone.
Over time, abnormalities began to appear. Suddenly, it became clear that the mutations that had been born from the wars of the past were not completely controlled by their wonder drug. The rebels worked over years, eventually over generations, chipping away at the stranglehold of the Authority. For many, it seemed like an impossible task. Sometimes, there were moments of triumph, but the war was far from over.
The rebel settlements are sparse, and well hidden. Within them, new generations of rebels are born and raised…
