Pirates! But not just any pirates… lady pirates!
Captain May Black has a ship. She has half of a map. Now all she needs is a crew. Are you a woman of adventurous spirit and flexible morals? Do you have what it takes to sail the seven seas and rake in the gold? Then life aboard The Virago may be for you.

Based vaguely in the Caribbean in the golden age of piracy, in this game female sailors are unusual but not unheard of. Captain Black is a feared and respected pirate and those in her employ are able mates, capable with the sabre and pistol and well-versed in villainy when necessary.
This is intended to be a roleplaying-heavy, mechanics-light game with vague historical accuracy (with a large helping of creative handwaving when necessary). You don’t need to know a yardarm from a windlass, but please do consider appropriate use of language and familiarise yourself with shipboard life. There is room for both comedy and drama on this ship. Scenes may be R-rated though any gratuitous sexual situations or gore will be strictly off-camera.
I’m planning on running this in a slightly different way from the usual Storium set-up - there will be several ‘games’ for the crew so that I can run concurrent scenes depending on setting, timing, etc. Once you’ve applied and been approved for this game I’ll send you an invite to the others - scenes will be set out along a timeline so that players can keep things straight.
Please be creative when coming up with character concepts; due to the nature of the game I’ll be accepting slightly more than the recommended 3-5, but I will be discerning, so make sure your writing is sharp and your ideas are unique. Please personalise your strengths/weaknesses/subplots and add pictures! You can add additional cards as well; the ones that are currently there are just suggestions and staring points. Avatars are required - try to keep them period-appropriate if you please.
