Either you lay back while others twist the truth, or do something about it.
Not so long ago the link between world-wide events and the people was provided by newspapers. Now, you are one of them.
The concept is that each player ‘plays’ a newspaper, and writes articles over news-items. The items are given as challenges, where each player may give their version of the story. The facts of the previous moves stand. Their interpretation, well…
The idea is to go ‘light’ on the heavy topics, and ‘hard’ on the lighter topics. The point is not to have political or ethical debates, but to have fun with bold letters and bolder statements. Many of the moves will be either agreeing with others, slightly twisting the story or taking the occasional potshot. Rotating narration for six scenes.
The setting is contemporary and realistic, yet purely fictional. No Prumt vs. Tonclin, but presidential candidates and elections will most likely be there. No actual magic or aliens as well, though “Yoga Master wins Nobel Prize for Curing Cancer” or “Aliens Abduct President” might be read. If everyone agrees than it must be true.
What do you say about lying economists, washed-up submarines, nation-scale catastrophes, and exceptionally dumb remarks by politicians? Are you a patriotic propaganda machine, the Voice of the People, lifestyle & human interest or the simple truth over breakfast with a page-3 girl? Are you a New York Times, a Daily Mirror, a National Inquirer or a Pravda?
Read all about it.
Starts wednesday 21 sept, will remain open for submissions after that date.
