Based on a Living SpyCraft mission by David Wu
I ran part of this game several years ago, but I (along with one of my players, my wife) had to drop out due to the birth of my son. I’d like to try it again.
In the near future, the United Nations has put together a unique Special Forces task force called UNITAS, the United Nations International Tactical Advisory Service. UNITAS personnel are drawn from a wide range of countries with backgrounds ranging from military to SWAT to Intelligence. They are sent on secret missions around the world to stop threats to global peace.
UNITAS has received news of a working prototype of a nuclear warhead in Iran, even though Iran is years away from completing development of their nuclear program. UNITAS agents have been tasked to enter Iran, disable the warhead, and find out how the Iranians got a working model (and from whom).
However, with multiple nations working together in UNITAS, there’s always a chance that agents may be working at cross-purposes, betrayers from within. Just like Judas. Long has his name been a synonym for betrayal. However, some say his act of betrayal only served the greater good; by allowing the Son of God to die for the sins of man. In effect, betrayal was the right thing to do.
In the Great Game of global espionage, betrayal for the greater good is not only standard procedure, but also a standard justification. Some refer to it as “the Judas Protocol.”
