Twenty-second century Earth is a place filled with advanced technology of all kinds. Trade and currencies have been completely digitized, and homes equipped with AI assistants, with completely automated household tasks, are a common sight. Economies are flourishing, international war practically lost in the past thanks to the new era of peace.
However, not all is well. The victims of a record-breaking global poverty gap become increasingly desperate, resorting to last-resort measures simply to survive. The solution? Crime. Because while it’s morally questionable, criminal activity (when done right) is so lucrative.
As world governments pool their resources to fund an international law enforcement initiative in a fruitless attempt to combat the growing crime rates, the rest of the world continues.
Each year, at a prestigious private academy located somewhere off the coast of Italy, over a thousand applications are filtered down to one hundred and twenty. The acceptance letters received by the fourteen-year-old future students would be welcomed with delight and relief, a symbol of what would be four years of what could arguably be the best high school education in the world.
Irrelevant to the aforementioned topic of crime, right? Wrong.
Welcome to ACE: the Academy of Criminal Education, where students are trained to break the law in every way possible. Here, we care naught for petty crime, the small or the boring. We don’t make common criminals. Here at ACE, we strive to make each and every one of our students into a villain.
You see, what most lawbreakers don’t understand nowadays is that crime offers much more than profit. The material rewards are important, of course, but so is the pleasure of breaking the restraints of society and the feeling of power that stems from accomplishing a nefarious deed. At ACE, we can teach you that crime is an art.
There’s one thing you need to be careful of if you are accepted to ACE. Though we have a Code of Conduct, there is one rule that supersedes all others. It is simply:
Don’t get caught.
The Academy of Criminal Education is a science fiction action adventure with elements of crime and mystery.
