Starting a new game is easy! Storium guides you through setting everything up and helps you invite your friends (even if they’re not already on Storium) or find people to play with from the community.

Choose a world

The easiest way to start a new Storium game is to choose one of our pre-made worlds. Each world is a set of storytelling tools that help you get your game off the ground and tell a story in a certain style or setting.

You don’t have to use a world, but it often makes things easier. And even if you do choose a world, you can modify it to your heart’s content.

Start your own
game from scratch Don’t see a world you like? No problem. You can create your own, or just make up what you need as you go along.

Are you sure you want to start from scratch?

Creating a world from scratch is fun and rewarding, but is only recommended for experienced narrators who have already played a game or two to learn the ropes.

If you have an idea for a story that is related to any of our existing starter worlds, you will have an easier time — and potentially a more successful game — if you select and customize a starter world instead.
