You heard about the kid that supposedly mutated without a meta-gene complex, of course. After all, he was local, and it was a huge media circus for a while. But it wasn’t important to you; he didn’t go to your school, after all. Even if, you supposed, this meant there was a possibility of you mutating yourself, despite also lacking the complex. But there was no way that would happen.
At least, so you thought, until one day you woke up in a strange place…
