It was an ordinary high school, in an ordinary town. There was absolutely nothing special about it.
However, there was little diversity in this town. You could count the families of color on your two hands. These families all knew each other and hung out with each other mostly – although they did have other friends.
All of them were as close as ever. There was drama, maybe some romance, and philosophical discussions. They discussed everything that was bothering them - how they were treated, how they felt, and maybe just vague questions about life. Their friendship was unmatched. No other friendship going as deep as their’s existed in their little town of Oakville.
