There have been troubling rumors in the world of Teladesh. Rumors of necromancy, political trouble, and hidden wars.
One day, signs start showing up in the villages and towns of the Empire.
“Looking for people of all castes to investigate rumors and update the Oacinan and Kin Council as needed. If interested, please send a letter by pigeon to the Spires, attention to Dar’kai Keyana Mesimerdo of House Lapis.”
Usually, the ruling classes can manage their problems without asking for outside help, though it’s not unheard of for them to ask. But this leaves you, and everyone else, uneasy. Rather than sitting on your heels and waiting for something to happen, you soon find yourself jotting off a letter to Dar’kai Mesimerdo.
OOC notes:
This is an original fantasy world. There are only two races - Tayenu (basically humans who can use magic) and Shulans (lizardmen). Before you apply, please read the worldbuilding information at https://sites.google.com/site/teladesh/home so everyone starts off at the same spot. If you submit a character where it’s clear you haven’t read the information, you will be denied.
Every Tayenu, regardless of magical skill, is capable of using telepathy with other Tayenu, although it’s considered beyond rude to mindspeak to strangers. (And, indeed, in some villages, it’s a jailing offense.) Mindspeak will be indicated in-game by using a ~ instead of a “ in dialogue.
This story starts after you’ve received a note back from Dar’kai Mesimerdo telling you to come to Oacina to meet your team. You’ve traveled the distance and are all meeting for the first time in an Oacinan tavern.
I intend for this to be a long-lasting game, where your group is responsible for keeping the nations on the continent peaceful and prosperous. Once we wrap up one mission, I will take suggestions about where we should go next from everyone and we will vote on the most popular idea.
Please pick an avatar if you’re playing a Tayenu. Please keep the nationality of your character in mind when looking for avatars, since there’s not a lot of travel by the average person.
If you want to play a Shulan, please make sure to include a full description of them in your bio, so we don’t have problems with a constantly shifting appearance. ^^ I’m looking for skin/scale color, eye color, height, and general body type (i.e. “stocky”, “thin”, “wiry”, “fat”).
Character applications without an avatar (Tayenu) or description (Shulan) will be denied.
The more detailed the bio, the better, though I won’t deny people solely on length of bio.
Lastly, please be aware that I’m a stickler for grammar.
