World War I has not yet erupted, but the Earth is most definitely rumbling as the Spirits, children born at the dawn of the century, travel Europe with the Circus Europa. The circus is really a training ground for future heroes, but they may be called to act far sooner than their trainers realize.
In every town they’ve visited, there is almost a constant angry murmur among the poor; stepped on and squashed for far too long, feeling forgotten by the more fortunate.
And unfortunately, the Spirits are not the only ones active across the world. Shadows are also preparing to drag the world into a darker time.
On the stage, in the streets, and even in the homes of those both rich and poor, the Circus Europa will battle a hawkish faction of villains, aided by Shadows, to battle for the hearts, minds, and futures of the continents’ people from all walks of life.
======
This game is set at the eve of WWI and your characters are tween born on January 1st, 1901s. This game should have the feel of a children’s action movie with a healthy bit of intrigue thrown in. Despite the serious content with some social commentary that is likely to come up, this is not a game with graphic violence or adult themes.
Players will take on the roles of one of thegifted children and use their talents, with the others, to thwart the plot that threatens Europe even before WWI rears its ugly and destructive head.
This game takes inspiration not only from the “young Centurions” game world, but also will draw a few themes and plot elements from “Poor Folk,” By Fyodor Dostoyevsky though loosely enough that no knowledge of the story is necessary, or even helpful for the story.
