“At bottom every man knows well enough that he is a unique being, only once on this earth; and by no extraordinary chance will such a marvelously picturesque piece of diversity in unity as he is, ever be put together a second time.” - Friedrich Nietzsche
Each kid had a special… power, if you will. But this was an ordinary world, with ordinary people that were not supposed to have powers.
When the town found out about these abilities, they were aghast.
Deemed ‘unusual’ by the media and their parents, these children were shunned by everyone they came across, except each other (if they had met each other before, of course). Their parents did not know what to do with them, so just put them under house-arrest.
And so it seemed like a perfect opportunity when a women called Anastasia Faraday came up to each of the child’s parents and offered her services - a boarding school that specialized in treating children like them. All parents were overjoyed, and sent their children off to Faraday’s School for Trouble Children. But little did the parents know, that Faraday was full of others who had powers as well, who were being trained on how to use their powers correctly. The students of Faraday called themselves “The Specials.”
This story is very lightly based on the book/movie Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children.
