“Diplomacy is the art of telling people to go to hell in such a way that they ask for directions.”- Winston Churchill.
A few months ago, at the Winter Solstice, the world changed.
It came all of a sudden, and had clearly been in the planning for a long time. They were not afraid, not even overly confused (at least outwardly) and they appeared in London, ready to talk.
They call themselves The Knights of Peace.
Nine beautiful, otherworldly citizens of the fae sovereignty stepped through from their lands and travelled to the metropolitan city to begin talks with human kind. They carried with them a message of peace and an invitation for several diplomats to take the return journey to their lands. They promised opportunities to meet with the numerous Kings and Queens of the Sovereignty, make treaties, learn customs, travel, document and trade.
There are several weighty questions that remain unanswered…
Why now?
What do they want?
How much do they know?
Are they really what they seem?
Some nations are less enthusiastic than others to send their diplomats, but the Fae have agreed to take a small initial number, chosen by their Knights of Peace by application.
Their Sovereignty lays beyond the magical portal that was opened in an enormous (otherwise unheard of) cave in Herefordshire, England.
You will play one of the hand picked diplomats, who will be travelling to this new place to learn about the land and people there.
You may play any number of shade of diplomat (scholar, politician, media, trader, military- the possibilities are endless and I’ll consider anything that seems valid and interesting!)
I have only made one card for each thing, so please make your own!
All characters should come with someone “back home” that they are supposed to be answering to (I’ll make up the NPC for them when needed, but if you can describe them vaguely, that would be helpful).
More than any game I’ve ever narrated, this one feels like the subplot card will be important! Everyone should have a different reason to be there and a different goal.
This will be a game of discovery, strangeness, manipulation and secrets.
As always, all my games are LGBT* friendly. People from all cultures and places are encouraged, as this is a world wide situation.
Any questions, throw me a message!
