In the icy wilds of Nolmar, there are two seasons: Winter and Deepwinter.
Each year, as Winter wanes, the Herdunost–great, wide, horned beasts with thick grey hides of fur masking pounds of steaming meat and hooves like steel that graze the hardy shrubs of the Herdplanes–venture South in droves.
As the Herdunost march on, the strongest of the Nortskar and Paeltuth tribes venture out into the Northern Herdplanes to reap what meat they may for their people. Your people.
Those that are too old, too young, the sickly, the crippled, the injured or otherwise incapable remain in the village. It never takes longer than a week for the hunters to return.
