These are the continuing voyages of the starship USS Eileen Collins…
Premise: the starship USS Eileen Collins, newest addition to Starfleet, was flung through a temporal rift two hundred years into the future. To their great surprise, the crew of the Eileen found, not a greatly expanded Federation with even more peace and prosperity, but a quadrant of barbarism and petty kingdoms, relics of a lost Federation that collapsed over a century ago. After many adventures (and some meddling with the time-stream), they found a way to return to the past.
Or did they?
In this game, the crew of the Eileen will struggle to survive in one or more hostile universes, as they continue their quest to find a way home.
They have two things in their favour: 1) the skills, training and morale of the finest ship in Starfleet and 2) the fact that the Eileen Collins is a Defiant-class escort cruiser. First seen defending Deep Space 9, the Defiant class packs a battleship’s worth of weaponry into something a quarter of the size of a cruiser.
The story so far: Previously, the crew were catapulted centuries into the future, where they found the Federation gone and a hundred squabbling kingdoms in its place. Surviving the attacks of the Mithraic Priesthood, the treachery of “Admiral-King” Makenzee, and avoiding the Godly People’s Earth-Mars Union, the crew finally figured out how to duplicate the famous Spock “Temporal Slingshot” maneuver.
Did it work? Play to find out!
(below is the original premise of the game)
The Federation was the best hope for peace in the galaxy. A noble experiment in cooperation, trust, and equality.
It failed.
For a bit.
Premise-the starship USS Eileen Collins, newest addition to Starfleet, has been flung through a temporal rift two hundred years into the future. To their great surprise, the crew of the Eileen find, not a greatly expanded Federation with even more peace and prosperity, but a quadrant of barbarism and petty kingdoms, relics of a lost Federation that collapsed over a century ago.
In this game, the crew of the Eileen will struggle to survive in the hostile 26th century, while reviving the ideals of the long-dead United Federation of Planets. They have two things in their favour: 1) the skills, training and morale of the finest ship in Starfleet and 2) the fact that the Eileen Collins is a Defiant-class escort cruiser. First seen defending Deep Space 9, the Defiant class packs a battleship’s worth of weaponry into something a quarter of the size of a cruiser, and is more than a match for one of the crumbling relics or cobbled-together warp vessels of the Fallen Federation era.
But with no resupply and no functioning Starbases, these days of tactical advantage are numbered - can the crew restore hope to a galaxy gone dark before that time runs out?
