Perhelion University, one of the oldest and most respected institutes for the study and practice of magic. And you are one of the few with the gifts or resources to earn a seat in their hallowed halls.
Except you’ve been placed in Aphelion Probationary Dorm. A small and special hall for those handful of students who need watching, either due to actions, attitudes, or uncontrolled magic. And this year, for the first time in the school’s history, Aphelion is full.
Maybe you know exactly what you did to earn your spot. Maybe there’s been a mistake and there’s absolutely no reason you should be in this dorm. Or maybe there’s a reason, but the staff are keeping it under their hats.
But it’s too late to change now. Which means it’s going to be an interesting year.

This is a M/M game with a focus on character interaction and a plot developing out of that. Perhelion is a mixed gender school, but the dorms are segregated by sex, so all player characters should be male by birth or by identification.
Perhelion exists in a world where magic has always been known and practiced, affecting the evolution of the world and society. It is a reasonably modern world at level with the seventies or eighties for technological convenience, though all powered by magic.
TechnoMagery is a new magical form, developed in the last fifteen to twenty years. It functions similar to computer programming. A spell is written with detailed parameters onto a specially prepared surface. The spell is then run through a special device and powered by some variety of magical battery (generally power stored in a crystal). There are a lot of mixed feelings about technomagery. It allows anyone access to high level spells that were before only available to skilled practitioners.
Perhelion University is the equivalent of an Ivy League college and tends to maintain traditional values in both magic and society. It is mostly run by arcanists and has only had a program for the teaching of technomages for the last five years.
